WIBC FCC History

Long before the days of internet-based public inspection files and an online FCC, the Commission kept the records of each radio station on a series of index cards in Washington. A pack of cards would show the entire history of a frequency, including call letter changes, equipment changes, power changes, anything that had to do with the engineering of that frequency.

With WIBC sunsetting their 50,000 Watt signal, presented here is their technical history from 1938 to 1979, recorded by the engineers of the FCC as it happened.
